My name is Mike Dias. I have worked as a contractor/carpenter most of my life. The housing market took a bad turn several years back. I had some friends that had been working as carpenters for the film industry. I was lucky that they remained very busy through the housing crash, because they were hiring set construction workers. They hired me, and it has turned into a career for me.

My name is John Gallo, and I work for the premier aerial lift supplier in New England, NES.
Since the Massachusetts Film Tax Credit was enacted, I’ve had the pleasure of supplying almost every film production in Massachusetts with their aerial lift needs.

I have personally benefited from increased income that has given my family a better life. Over the last ten years, both my children were able to attend college and graduate; now my son, a graduate of Boston College, is working in the local film industry.
Please let Governor Baker know that film is an important part of the economy, not only for the local film crew who benefit directly, but also the businesses and individual employees who benefit indirectly by supplying products and services to the production companies.
